A survey conducted by Capstrat-Public Policy Polling found that Americans are not keen on using social media to communicate with their healthcare providers, but are open to using the internet for administrative tasks such as billing and accessing medical records. Only 11% of respondents said they would use social media for medical communication, while 85% said they would not. However, respondents did show favorability towards communicating via email (52%), online appointment setting (56%), online access to medical records (50%), and online bill payment (48%).
