SpyCloud Warns SecOps Teams to Guard Against Infostealer Malware

New research by cybersecurity firm SpyCloud suggests Infostealer malware could indicate an impending ransomware attack. The study found 22% of compromised companies had been infected by Infostealer before a ransomware event. SpyCloud’s Ransomware Defense Report also revealed 81% of organizations had been affected by ransomware in the past year, emphasizing the need for an identity-centric approach to post-infection remediation and a shift from machine-centric response tactics to prevent such attacks.
