Chinese Hackers Target Semiconductor Firms in East Asia with Cobalt Strike

Chinese-linked cyber threat actors are reportedly targeting East Asian semiconductor companies. Dutch cybersecurity firm, EclecticIQ, says the attackers use a backdoor called HyperBro, putting it to use in a campaign suspected to be run by Chinese threat actor Lucky Mouse. The attacks have seen links to other hacking groups RedHotel and Earth Lusca, and coincided with reports of Belgium’s intelligence agency investigating potential Chinese interference.
