An Android banking trojan, GoldDigger, is targeting over 50 Vietnamese financial applications with potential plans to extend to the wider Asia-Pacific region and Spanish-speaking countries. It impersonates legitimate entities to gather data, extract personal information, and steal banking credentials. GoldDigger is spread through counterfeit websites and phishing tactics, and uses sophisticated protection mechanisms to evade detection. The severity and reach of the infections remain unknown.
