GoldDigger malware will drain your bank accounts without you even realizing

A new Android malware strain called GoldDigger is stealing money from banking apps, a campaign first spotted by cybersecurity researchers Group-IB in June. The malware was delivered via fake apps imitating a Vietnamese government portal and energy company, which directed victims to download them from malicious duplicate Google Play websites. GoldDigger gathers sensitive information, targeting 51 Vietnamese financial, e-wallet, and cryptocurrency wallet apps. Notably, it uses Virbox Protector for obfuscation and encryption, complicating cybersecurity efforts.
