Failed IT systems at Capita fuel fears of cyber-attack on crucial NHS provider | Capita

Computer systems at outsourcing group Capita abruptly stopped working, knocking out council phone lines and raising concerns about a possible cyberattack. It’s not established yet what caused the outage, but it is observed as a vulnerability of critical public services to cyber incidents. Capita has £6.5bn of public sector contracts, making it one of the UK government’s largest suppliers. While some staff and systems have remained operational, most employees couldn’t access IT systems. The issue majorly affected the Office365 program suite, but clients’ systems appear unaffected.
