Free Download Manager Site Compromised to Distribute Linux Malware to Users for 3+ Years

For more than three years, Linux users downloading software from freedownloadmanager[.]org were unknowingly exposed to malware in a supply chain attack. The malware stole system information, browsing history, saved passwords, and cloud credentials. The attack, which operated between 2020 and 2022, was engineered to target specific users based on predetermined criteria, with malicious software being deployed to steal sensitive data. The campaign is no longer active.
