New research suggests that Generation Z, the most engaged online users, consider comprehensive online security unachievable. The study, conducted by the National Cybersecurity Alliance and Cybsafe, shows that 43% of Gen Z and 36% of millennials admitted to losing money or data to cybercrimes. Cybercrime resulted in losses of £6.7 billion and £2.7 billion for individuals and businesses respectively in a year. However, the reporting of cybercrimes increased with 88% of victims reporting incidents.
