Hackers are using compromised Skype accounts to distribute the DarkGate malware to targeted organisations, according to Trend Micro researchers. They disguise a VBS script as a PDF file and send it via Skype or Microsoft Teams. The malware has also been delivered through a .LNK file in a .ZIP file from SharePoint. The increase in usage of DarkGate may be due to recent disruptions to the Emotet and Qakbot botnets.
