RomCom Malware Group Targets EU Gender Equality Summit

The hacker group Void Rabisu targeted attendees of the Women Political Leaders Summit in Brussels with a pared-down version of the RomCom remote access trojan (RAT) known as PeaPod. Described as part malware, part spyware, this version does not show the user the extraction path or allow them to change it, bringing a level of opacity to the attacks. Cybersecurity experts have said it is not surprising that the conference was targeted, given the number of influential figures who were in attendance.
