This fake malware Android app can read SMS, record phone calls, access camera to steal user data

Cybersecurity researchers have discovered an Android malware, SpyNote, disguised as an ordinary phone update, which steals texts and bank info. It’s unique for its audacity, hiding in plain sight on your phone while recording phone calls. The trojan mostly spreads via deceptive text messages and uses special permissions to gain power. Removing SpyNote is challenging, often requiring a factory reset. Amit Tambe from F-Secure urges users to regularly update and secure their devices.
