Hackers Exploit QR Codes with QRLJacking for Malware Distribution

SlashNext has identified a rise in QR code phishing attacks, using “quishing” and “QRLJacking” methods. In quishing, malware or a phishing link is embedded in a QR code, which then downloads malware or redirects users to a phishing site when scanned. QRLJacking uses a phoney login page and QR code to steal access tokens when a user logs into the fake session. Users are reminded to always scan codes from trusted sources and keep anti-virus software up to date.
