Targeted analytics help Canadian healthcare groups combat homelessness, boost SDOH
Researchers at the Western University Arthur Labatt Family School of Nursing in Canada are using data science to understand and address homelessness in the country. They have developed an algorithm to identify cases of homelessness in healthcare administrative data, which has been successful in generating policy insights. This includes calculating COVID-19 testing, infection and complication rates among homeless people, and informing vaccination strategies to prioritise this group.
