Gov’t email damage, Johnson Controls attacked, Google’s 5th zero-day

Chinese hackers have reportedly stolen 60,000 emails from 10 US State Department accounts in a breach of Microsoft’s email platform. Multinational firm Johnson Controls has faced a ransomware attack, potentially compromising data related to national security. Google has addressed its fifth Chrome zero-day flaw of 2022. A class-action data privacy lawsuit has been filed against H&R Block, Google and Meta alleging racketeering-scale data scraping. A Chinese-backed hacking group, dubbed BlackTech, has been exploiting routers to target US-based companies.
