DICT to fight for confidential funds

The Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) intends to challenge the House of Representatives’ decision not to grant the DICT confidential funding for cybersecurity under the 2024 National Expenditure Program. DICT highlights how crucial these funds are to protect the Philippines’ cyberspace, particularly in light of increasing cyber threats and a recent hack of the country’s health insurance system, PhilHealth. The DICT was seeking PHP300m ($5.9m) of confidential funds for 2024.
