Exploring the Aftermath of the Qakbot Takedown: Is My Organization Safe?

The US Department of Justice and FBI’s joint operation successfully took down the infamous malware Qakbot, also known as Qbot, but the malware threat actors are still active in a weakened form. The operation disrupted the malware in 700,000 computers globally, including 200,000 in the US. However, since no arrests were made, experts suggest the infrastructure supporting the malware may still be intact and could pose potential future threats. The malware is linked to an ongoing phishing campaign delivering Cyclops ransomware.
