Victims charity calls for changes after police data breach

siteadmin August 16, 2023

Personal data of 1,230 crime victims and witnesses were accidentally released by Suffolk and Norfolk police, prompting an apology and an investigation by the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO). The leaked data include descriptions of sexual and domestic assaults. The police said the breach was not “immediately obvious” and they have no reason to believe the information has been accessed by anyone outside of policing.
