Phishing, malware attacks spike in third quarter

Cyberattacks using phishing and malware surged by 173% and 110% respectively in Q3 2021 compared to Q2, according to SiliconAngle. Resulting in the highest ever number of phishing attacks, and the second highest for malware. The government sector saw the highest increase while telecoms and internet sectors saw reductions. Microsoft, Facebook, and Bank of America were the most impersonated brands.
