U.S. state legislature, Middle Eastern gov’t targeted by espionage group through Log4j

The Budworm hacking group, associated with China’s government, has used the Log4j vulnerability to successfully attack a US state legislature, a Middle East government, a global electronics manufacturer, and a South East Asian hospital, according to Symantec’s Threat Hunter team. This is the first time Budworm has targeted a US-based entity in years, potentially indicating a shift in the group’s focus.
