UK privacy watchdog reveals more than two dozen data breach incidents

The UK Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) has issued over two dozen reprimands for data protection breaches, rather than imposing fines. The incidents include several failures to comply with Subject Access Requests, a ransomware attack on the Welsh Language Commissioner’s systems and the sharing of a domestic abuse victim’s relocation address. The ICO will now regularly publish such warnings to increase transparency and pressurise organizations to improve their data handling practices.
