Patient outcomes point to efficacy of telehealth and virtual care

A study by Kaiser Permanente found that the emergence of telehealth during the Covid-19 pandemic has addressed patients’ needs without major safety concerns. More than half of the primary care visits were done through telehealth while medication prescriptions and follow-up appointments within seven days were less for telemedicine compared to in-person visits. The study concluded that telemedicine will likely remain a primary care option post-pandemic.
