The AggregateIQ Files, Part Four: Northwest Passage
The exposure of an AggregateIQ (AIQ) repository by the UpGuard Cyber Risk Team has revealed the extent that the British Columbian data firm went to in building tools for the campaign of presidential candidate Senator Ted Cruz, working for political pressure groups in the UK, and creating mechanisms to track individuals online. AIQ’s work for Canadian politicians, including a system for supporters to donate to Senator Cruz’s campaign, also created a potential for a data breach, with visible login credentials. The repository also exposed a function used by the Cruz campaign to track online behaviour.
