Hackers trying to corrupt AI, raising level of ransomware threat: S’pore cyber-security director

Cybercriminals are trying to manipulate generative artificial intelligence (AI) to create ransomware, posing a new level of threat, according to Willis Lim, director of the National Cyber Threat Analysis Centre. Experts predict a record number of ransomware attacks in 2023 and have reported a 13% increase in incidents worldwide in 2022. Ransomware is malicious software that blocks computer access until a ransom is paid.
