Senior doctors in England plan to strike again on September 19 and 20 unless the UK government agrees to more pay negotiations, according to the British Medical Association (BMA). The NHS is already under pressure with thousands of hospital appointments being cancelled due to multiple strikes over pay, despite the government stating its last pay offer was “final”. The health department expressed disappointment over the further planned strikes which threaten to hamper efforts to reduce NHS waiting lists. Prime Minister Rishi Sunak has insisted that no strikes will change the government’s decision on public sector pay.
