Over a million Windows and Linux systems infected by this tricky new malware

Kaspersky researchers have identified a malware, StripedFly, responsible for an estimated million infections since 2017. Initially dismissed as a simple cryptocurrency miner, further investigation revealed that it can execute commands remotely, steal sensitive data, grab screenshots, and even record sounds. The mining of Monero cryptocurrency is believed to have been a diversion to stop deeper analysis of the code.
