StripedFly Worming Miner Affecting 1 Million Users

The StripedFly malware has affected around a million victims globally since 2017, according to a Kaspersky report. Initially mistaken for a crypto miner, the malware is a multifunctional wormable framework capable of acting as a crypto miner, ransomware, and advanced persistent threat. The malware harvests credentials, captures screenshots, and records microphone input, undetected. Despite similarities to the Equation Group’s malware, there hasn’t been a confirmation of any link.
