Microsoft overhauls cyber strategy to finally embrace security by default

Microsoft plans to revamp cybersecurity by embedding it into its core technology and cloud services, in line with its Secure Future Initiative. The move follows criticism regarding lacking security features in its software products. The refreshed strategy aims for secure default settings and will incorporate Azure baseline controls by default. Three main changes include the transformation of software development via AI and automation, evolving its security development lifecycle, and using memory-safe languages for software development.
