Google’s updated Play Protect feature against malware

Google Play Protect in India now allows users to scan sideloaded apps to check for malware. Despite increasing user safety, the feature may infringe on an Indian antitrust regulator order which declared sideloading should not be restricted by Google. This could potentially edge developers into only distributing on Google Play to avoid the additional steps.
