New Spyware Using Messaging Apps to Harvest User Data

WhatsApp spyware disguised as Telegram messaging app is stealing personal data, says Kaspersky. Targeting largely Arabic and Azeri users, the modified app sends data to the attacker’s server and can activate microphone recordings. The spyware has impacted users globally, including in the US, UK, Germany, and Russia. Kaspersky advises downloading apps from official sources and regularly scanning devices with reliable security software.
