Australian Ports Resume Operation After Crippling Cyber Disruption
A cyber attack on Dubai-based shipping firm DP World has caused operational disruptions at ports it manages in Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, and Fremantle, Australia. The incident, about which DP World has released little information, has lead to concerns over supply chains and ports, thought to have systemic weaknesses common to many critical infrastructure sectors. About 30,000 shipping containers were left stuck as the company shut down its local systems for the weekend following the attack.
