RomCom Malware Group Targets EU Gender Equality Summit

The hacker group Void Rabisu has reportedly transitioned from financially motivated cyber attacks to cyber-espionage. They targeted attendees of Women Political Leaders Summit in Brussels with a cut-down version of a remote access trojan dubbed RomCom. The hackers created a malicious copy of an official event site, linked users to an infected OneDrive file, alleging to contain exclusive photographs from the conference. Cybersecurity firm Trend Micro predicts other conferences will be targeted in the future.
