Phishing attacks hit record high in third quarter, with malware not far behind

In Q3, phishing and malware attacks increased dramatically, reaching some of the highest levels ever recorded, according to a report by Vade Secure SASU. There was a 173% increase in phishing attacks and a 110% increase in malware attacks compared to Q2. Microsoft and Facebook were the most impersonated brands, while the cloud, social media, and financial services industries saw significant increases in phishing attacks. To protect against these threats, businesses are advised to adopt integrated security solutions and implement automated phishing awareness training.
