New Trellix report highlights new developments in Malware & malicious GenAI

Trellix’s CyberThreat Report found collaboration between ransomware groups and state-backed hackers, the rise of obscure programming languages in malware, and cybercriminals using generative AI tools. The head of Threat Intelligence at Trellix emphasised the importance of threat intelligence for security teams, noting the growing sophistication of cybercriminals. The report also highlighted a 50% increase in state-level cyber threats, fluctuations in ransomware attacks, increased Dark Web collaboration, and the advent of polyglot malware.
