Suspected Hamas-linked hackers target Israel with new version of SysJoker malware
Hackers possibly linked to Hamas have reportedly targeted Israeli sectors with a new version of the SysJoker backdoor malware. Discovered by cybersecurity firm Intezer, the updated malware uses the Rust programming language in significant changes from the earlier model. This version likely targets critical Israeli industries, suggested Intezer, while Check Point linked the malware to the war between Israel and Hamas. Intezer named the unidentified threat group behind the malware as “WildCard”.
