Los Angeles SIM Swapper Sentenced to 8 Years in Prison
Amir Hossein Golshan, 25, of Los Angeles, was sentenced to 96 months in prison and ordered to pay over $1.2 million in restitution for multiple cybercrimes, including SIM swapping scams that caused roughly $740,000 in losses. Golshan impersonated Apple support, took over victims’ social media accounts, and tricked contacts into sending him money. He also defrauded individuals with fake Instagram services and stole digital property from victims’ iCloud accounts.
