LogoFAIL attack can install UEFI bootkits through bootup logos
Multiple security vulnerabilities named LogoFAIL can be exploited to hijack a computer’s booting process, injecting malware into the system. Researchers at Binarly found the vulnerabilities in the image parsing libraries used in the UEFI code, which displays logos during the booting process. The affected products include consumer and enterprise-grade devices from Intel, Acer, Lenovo, AMI, Insyde, and Phoenix.
