TrickBot malware dev pleads guilty, faces 35 years in prison
A Russian national, Vladimir Dunaev, pleaded guilty to creating and deploying the Trickbot malware which attacked individuals, businesses, and hospitals globally. Hired in 2016, he oversaw its development and harvested sensitive information like banking details. Dunaev is charged with conspiracy to commit computer fraud, identity theft, and wire and bank fraud. Arrested in South Korea in 2021, he awaits sentencing in March 2024 and faces up to 35 years in jail.
