NHS is vulnerable to cyber attacks and must take urgent steps to defend itself: new report

The UK’s NHS is exposed to cyber attacks due to use of outdated digital systems, a shortage of technical skills among employees and lack of funding for improved technology, a report from Imperial College has said. Risks include locked data, altered medical records and theft of data, the paper added, calling for improved security measures in new technologies such as AI and robotics. The study also highlighted the need for better education about cyber crime.
