New BlackBerry Threat Report Reveals 70% Surge in Novel Malware Attacks

BlackBerry’s Quarterly Global Threat Intelligence Report reveals a 70% surge in novel malware-based cyber attacks over three months. BlackBerry’s AI, Cylance, tracked 2.9 unique malware attacks per minute during June-August 2023, a considerable rise from 1.7 attacks of the previous quarter. The report also notifies of an increasing trend of “double-extortion” ransomware attacks and identifies the financial and healthcare sectors as the most targeted industries.
