Malicious web application attacks climb 88%

A report from Radware has revealed a sharp increase in malicious web application attacks, which grew by 88% between 2020 and 2021. This is more than double the increase in distributed denial-of-service (DDoS) attacks. However, DDoS and ransom denial-of-service (RDoS) attacks also saw an increase, with RDoS becoming particularly prominent. Cybercriminals are moving to more complex attack patterns, utilising a combination of cryptolocking, data leak and DDoS attacks in triple extortion campaigns.
