Ontario’s new security advisor to create a “centre of excellence” for threat analysis
Ontario’s first security advisor, Ray Boisvert, has announced that he intends to shape his office as a “centre of excellence” for screening strategic issues outside the traditional remit of direct threats and criminal investigations. This will include examining ways to strengthen critical infrastructure and counter the influence of radical extremists. He added that Ontario is “the most important jurisdiction in the country with regards to critical infrastructure.” Boisvert’s office is distinct from Ontario’s corporate CIO and its head of cybersecurity.
