HCA Healthcare says data breach ‘appears to be a theft’

Nashville-based HCA Healthcare has warned 11 million patients their information may have been leaked via an “unknown and unauthorized” online party. The stolen data includes names, addresses, emails, telephone numbers, DOBs, genders and medical appointment details. HCA ruled out the loss of treatment, payment or other sensitive information. The company has notified law enforcement and drafted in third-party cybersecurity advisors.
