Google faces UK lawsuit for NHS patient data breach – JURIST

Google and its AI subsidiary, DeepMind Technologies, are facing a lawsuit filed in England’s High Court for misuse of private information. The case arises from a data-sharing agreement between DeepMind and the Royal Free London National Health Service. The agreement enabled DeepMind to access five years’ worth of confidential patient data without their informed consent to develop the Streams app.
