NHS ‘could have prevented’ WannaCry ransomware attack
More than a third of NHS England trusts disrupted by the Wannacry ransomware attack this year failed to act on cybersecurity recommendations by NHS Digital, according to the UK’s National Audit Office (NAO). No NHS organisation paid the ransom and a total 6,912 appointments, including operations, were cancelled in addition to potential delays in test information as a result of the attack.
