Rising ransomware attacks exploit remote access software, warns WatchGuard report
Endpoint ransomware attacks have surged by 89%, with cyber criminals also increasingly exploiting remote access software, according to a study by WatchGuard Technologies. The study finds cyber attackers have been using remote management tools to avoid anti-malware detection, and have also been abusing password-stealers and info-stealers. Despite a drop in malware via encrypted connections, overall malware detections have increased by 14%.
