North Korea-based hacking group, Lazarus, has shifted its focus to cryptocurrency domains, using sophisticated impersonation techniques on Telegram to gain trust from DeFi project teams. The hackers employ phishing scams, including script downloads and malicious meeting links, to steal funds and compromise systems. Cybersecurity firm, SlowMist, warns of the threat and advises users to practice rigorous identity verification, enable two-factor authentication, diligently scrutinize transactions, proactively mitigate malware, and change passwords frequently.
