Data breach hits DePauw University after Black Suit ransomware attack

A cyberattack on DePauw University, claimed by the Black Suit ransomware operation, has led to the compromising of data related to current and prospective students. Initial investigations show that the intruders accessed some individual’s limited information. The university has notified the affected individuals. The attack resulted in the theft of 214 GB of data. Ransomware attacks have affected 76 colleges and universities in 2022, up from 44 the previous year.
