North Korean hackers Lazarus Group takes new Telegram tactics
North Korean hacking group, Lazarus, has been found to be targeting companies in manufacturing, agricultural, and physical security sectors, according to Cisco System Inc.’s Talos Intelligence unit. Lazarus, responsible for 2017’s WannaCry ransomware attacks, saw several subgroups develop their own malware campaigns. The group notably used the DLang programming language and refined its social engineering techniques. In its latest campaign, Lazarus gathered ‘ordinary user’ Telegram bot data, deploying a reverse proxy to enter networks unobtrusively.
