86% of cyberattacks are delivered over encrypted channels
Cyber threats transmitted via HTTPS channels increased by 24% in 2023, according to cybersecurity company Zscaler. The manufacturing sector was the most targeted industry, while government and education institutions saw the highest rise in attacks. Encrypted malware was the key threat, accounting for 78% of attacks, showing cyber criminals continually exploit encrypted channels. To counter this, experts recommend replacing vulnerable systems, like VPNs and firewalls, with Zero Trust Network Access solutions, to inspect traffic and block threats.
