New Ducktail Malware Targets Facebook Business Accounts

Cybersecurity firm Kaspersky has identified a new variant of the Ducktail malware targeting Facebook Business accounts, particularly those dealing with HR, digital marketing and social media. The malware sends malicious files disguised as PDFs and alters browser shortcuts to install a harmful extension, which steals information and active session cookies from compromised accounts for identity theft or further phishing attacks. Kaspersky advises caution when downloading files and verifying their legitimacy.
